Drawings 31–60 — March to April 2007
March 2007 brought a change of paper — Portofino Acquerello hot press — and a sharpening of Gordon's pen and ink line. The Crystal Mine drawings (Nos. 44–46), created on three consecutive days in late March, form a triptych that appears here both individually and as a composite. By April the series had gathered momentum, turning to mythological characters, planetary imagery, and invented landscapes.
